May Board of Education Meeting Recognitions
Mr. Howard Lattimore, NCDPI, presented the Purple Star District Legacy Award. This award recognizes the district's commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families.

Mr. Howard Lattimore, NCDPI, presented Mrs. Katie McLam a plaque to recognize six years of support and dedication to this program.

During the May Board of Education meeting, Dr. Williams and the board recognized several North Carolina State Beta Convention Winners from Edgewood Elementary School.
First Place Musicology winners were Everlee Batten, Julia Smith, Gigi Williamson, and Winter Tedder.
First Place Large Group Talent winners were Alaina Waddell, Arlo Smith, Aubrey Godwin, Ava Everette, Bricklynn Rooks, Brionna Scott, Charli Bullock, Ellie Greene, Emma Reese Duncan, Emory Wray, Everlee Batten, Gigi Williamson, Kinley Mullins, Jamia Smith, Julia Smith, MacKenzie Jacobs, Sawyer Stanaland, and Sydney High
First Place Performing Arts Instrumental Solo (Piano) winner was Sydney High.
First Place Woodworking winner was Drake Beck.
Second Place Quilling winner was Emma Nance
Third-place Digital Art winner was Walt Hinson
Fifth Place Living Literature winners were Alaina Waddell, Arlo Smith, Aubrey Godwin, Brionna Scott, Ellie Greene, Emma Nance, and Maggie Horne.
Fifth Place Quiz Bowl Team winners were Asher Robinson, Ben Newman, Ryder Warlick, and Weston Stanaland.
Fifth Place Poetry winner was Winter Tedder

Dr. Williams and the board recognized Pam Sutton for completing the Distinguished Leadership Program, Jamal Soles for completing the Sandhill Regional Leadership Series, and Latoya Green for completing the Leadership Academy Program.
