3rd Grade - Strawberry Observations PDF Print E-mail

The third grade students at Edgewood are busy making scientific observations of their strawberry plants.  In the fall each 3rd grade class planted their own strawberry patch and they have been eagerly watching over it all winter.  Now that spring is here they have started collecting data on the plant's growth.  Once a week for five weeks they are going to the garden and recording the plant's height, number of leaves, number of white flowers, number of green strawberries, number of red strawberries, the soil's temperature, amount of rainfall and amount of sunlight.  For all their hard work the students will get to eat the fruits of their labor!!!

Bonne Plant's 3rd Grade Cabbage Program

Every third grader at Edgewood received a cabbage plant from Bonnie Plants! Now that you've got cabbages what should you do???  Visit www.bonniecabbageprogram.com to learn the proper steps for caring for and harvesting your new friend!  Once your cabbage is full-grown, you'll want to weigh it and take a picture of it to submit to Mrs. Hyatt.  Those whose turn in a picture will be placed in a random drawing for a $1,000 scholarship and statewide recognition from Bonnie Plants.  Good Luck!
